Friday words: Adduce and Slimsy

Two words today, I won't be able to post next Friday, and the "scheduled post" feature is acting wacky...

(from Scribble Writer's Community page on FB)

Adduce (v.): to offer as example, reason, or proof in discussion or analysis.

"The arguments she had adduced rang true." (Agatha Christie, The Secret Adversary, 1922)

Slimsy (adj): flimsy or frail.

"When he asked if she needed a rest, stubbornness caused her to refuse--she didn't want him thinking she was soft and slimsy."  (Dawn Shamp, On Account of

Conspicuous Women, 2008)
