Wednesday word: stripling

stripling: [strip-ling]

Noun: An adolescent male. A youth.

Origin: Middle English, 1350-1400. possibly from strip, "long, narrow piece," on the notion of "one who is slender as a strip, whose figure is not yet filled out."

This is currently my youngest cat's nickname even though he's four.  X-D
