Tuesday Word: endophilia

Endophilic organisms demonstrate a preference for being in areas inhabited by humans, particularly human homes. Endophilia comes from endo- (within) and -philia (fondness, love). It's kind of cute. See, rats and cockroaches don't want to devour us in our sleep or ruin that cake we left on the counter overnight! They just admire our taste in furniture and television programs. Infestation is the highest form of flattery. Mull that one over the next time your local pest control service has you on hold.
