Tuesday Word: cymotrichous

Put cymo- ("wave"), -trich ("hair") and -ous together and you get cymotrichous, which means "having wavy hair."

Cymotrichous was the winning word of 14-year-old South Abington Township, Pennsylvania resident Sukanya Roy, the champion of the 2011 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Only 7 days and 31 minutes left until the start of the next national bee!
