Monday word: traduce

traduce (tr-ds, -dys), verb.
1.  to expose to shame or blame by means of falsehood and misrepresentation.
2.  violate, betray

Etymology:  mid-1500s, from Latin traducere, "lead along (as a spectacle)".

This is not a frequently-used word; the synonym 'malign' is more common.
