Don't interrupt the steak Tuesday

I have a question for any British or Australian members here: Is the word 'pother' common to you? I've only seen it in a book written by my favorite author who happened to be British, but it has that sort of ring to it that makes me think it's rather common. Let me know?

ebullient [ih-BUHL-yuhnt, ih-BOOL-]

adjective
1. overflowing with fervor, enthusiasm, or excitement; high-spirited
2. bubbling up like a boiling liquid.

Little Siri was so enormously ebullient at the idea of being picked to be the magician's assistant that she well-nigh hyperventilated and had to be sent to the nurse's office, forcing the rather dashed magician to choose another less excitable child from the crowd.

If all goes well, this should be my last Tuesday post (unless a sub is required)! I've had a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to imifumei's posts in future! Thank you, everybody!
