  • Mood:

Latipennate

Happy Monday all! I missed last week and I know that I would normally make up for that by posting two words the following Monday but I am terribly sick at the moment so you'll have to make do with just one this time around, sorry guys!

Latipennate
adjective

Pronunciation:
[lat-eh-peh-nayte]

Definition:
Broad-winged.

Etymology:
Very straight forward etymology today:

From the Latin latus meaning wide and the Latin penna meaning feather.

Usage:
"For a bird of its size it was surprisingly latipennate with one wing alone making up at least a third of its full size."

Love Tahlia, enjoying this brief moment of consciousness.
