Definition
Calculator spelling - a technique of spelling words by reading characters upside-down from calculators equipped with certain kinds of seven-segment displays.
Etymology
Calculator spelling has been prevalent ever since the first segmented display calculators were available, and ever since the first student learned that 5318008 spelt BOOBIES upside-down. The term 'BEGHILOS' comes from the letters, in alphabetical order, which can be made using seven-segment numbers - 83941705. As such, it's also sometimes called BEGHILOZ or BEGHILOSZ as a Z is also available.
